Commentary on Phantom Traveler by J2

JA: Wow, I looked so young back then… (Jensen referring to the scene in which Sam introduces Dean to Jess)
JP: Right, a year ago. (laughs)
JA: These eighteen episodes have aged me eighteen years (laughs)
JP: Well that particular shot right there (Jared referring to the end scene where Sam throws the gun into the trunk after Jess has been killed) aged me about eighteen years because I did about forty five takes of ‘okay, now you’re normal and you’re happy now break into tears’.

JA:
And how much richer is your life now that you have met me?
JP: Millions of dollars…
JA: Right…
JP: Oh, wait… right, say richer like, that quality…
JA: I hate you!
JP: (laughs)
JP: No, my life has definitely changed since I met Jensen… I’m so happy as a person just basically knowing that I’m not him.

JP: So, I remember really enjoying this character and really love Sam Winchester and the relationship he has with his brother Dean and I feel awkward talking about this with Jensen sitting right next to me but I remember meeting Jensen and being very relieved ‘cause I met a lot of people out in Los Angeles that I just…
JA: (Mimics snoring noises)
JP: He’s sleeping so I guess I can talk about him. Anyway I hate Jensen’s guts and… Oh, he’s awake…
JP: Anyway, I love Jensen and I remember getting along with him very well, we’re both Texas boys…

JA: Yeah, the whole ’Dean afraid to fly’ thing, I remember reading that and I was like, ‘Oh, man… this is gonna be a field day’.
JP: (Laughs) I remember reading that and going, ‘Dean, you pussy’.

JP: I remember when we shot ‘Wendigo’, which was the first episode after the Pilot, you know, running through the woods, take after take after take and David Nutter would say, ‘Okay, now you’re running for your life… now run’.
And I remember I was flat, in wooden soled ‘Sketcher’ shoes…
JA: Dude, you’re so gonna get a deal from Sketchers, man…
JP: I hope so…
JP: And I was running in these Rolex watches that were really heavy…
JA: (laughs loudly)
JP: And I had to keep on jumping in to my Ferrari…
JA: Yeah, I remember, I was wearing one too…
JP: Then we had to jump in our Ferraris and it was really weird…
JA: Actually I had to jump in a Maserati…
JP: Right, right… several of them…

JA: (Jensen talking about the look that passed between Dean and the air stewardess in the airport afterwards) I don’t even remember what that look was, why was I shaking my head?
JP: I’m not really sure but you did it really well.
JA: Thank you.

JA: (Jensen talking about the end credits) And there it is, Eric Kripke… Thank you, Eric…
JP: Thank you, Eric…
JP: Alright guys, that’s it. Thanks for watching this episode with us, we hope you learned something new that you didn’t know before…
JA: And I hope you enjoyed the sarcasm, think we laid it on pretty thick…
